At a young age, I was introduced to the idea of craftsmanship. My dad built custom homes and took pride in every detail—from the foundation to the finish work. My first job was sweeping sawdust and handing tools to carpenters. He used to tell me, “If you take care of your tools, they’ll take care of you.” That simple wisdom stuck.

My passion for building is, in many ways, an extension of the values my parents passed down. While my dad showed me the grit and patience of the trade, my mom—an endlessly creative and resourceful teacher—taught me how to approach every project with heart and imagination. Together, their influence shaped the way I see work, design, and life.

Today, Chris Ross Harris | Build is a reflection of those lessons. What started with woodworking has grown into a full-service offering—from custom furniture and cabinetry to residential handyman work and home upgrades. Whether it’s fixing what’s broken or building something brand new, I approach every job with care, precision, and purpose.
